Instilling Confidence In Your Teenager
Invisalign Teen is hands down the most hygienic way for your Teens to straighten their teeth while maintaining proper levels of self confidence and esteem. Rather than wires and brackets, Invisalign Teen uses a series of clear removable custom made aligners for your teen’s teeth. They simply wear them over their teeth and change them out for new sets every two weeks. Over time, your child’s teeth will gradually shift into correct positions, achieving a confident healthy smile.
If you have had braces yourself, then you already know the complaints and issues with traditional metal wires and brackets. Invisalign Teen allows removal of the orthodontic aligners during extracurricular activities that could be compromised with regular braces. Your teen can play sports safely without the worry of being hit in the mouth by a ball, which can cause major damage with braces. They can continue to play musical instruments properly, without braces getting in the way.
With braces, there are many foods your teen shouldn’t eat, from apples, carrots, to popcorn and hard nuts. With Invisalign, there are no dietary restrictions. The risk of generalized tooth decay and gingivitis of the gums associated with traditional braces is exponentially increased with that form of orthodontics as it is difficult to remove food, brush, and floss and maintain any sense of proper oral hygiene. The removable aligners, on the other hand, have a very low risk of any increase in cavities or gingivitis as by simply removing the aligners it is easy to brush and floss normally to maintain proper oral hygiene.
Research has shown that parents underestimate the extent to which teenagers feel self conscious about their smiles. Using braces as a solution can often make this poor self esteem even lower. With Invisalign Teen, a teenager can feel confident while straightening their teeth, removing a potential source of real anxiety for them.
When worn according to Dr. Davidowitz’ recommendations Invisalign teen can be just as effective as any traditional braces for most of the common teeth-straightening issues. These include treatment of mild to severe crowding, spacing (gaps), overbite and flaring teeth. The chances are that your teen is a candidate for Invisalign Teen. An exam and consult is all that is needed to find out for sure.

Lumineers – Ultra Thin, Beautiful, Speedy Veneers
Did you know that you can painlessly transform the size, shape, color and strength of your teeth with Lumineers?
Lumineers are an ultra thin and comfortable form of dental veneer that is applied seamlessly over the fronting of your teeth for a bright, beautiful, natural looking smile.
There are many differences between Lumineers and traditional veneers. We encourage you to take a few moments to look some of them over below and ask us any questions you may have at your next visit.
What are dental veneers?
Veneers are tooth-colored beautiful ceramic shells that are custom made and applied to the surface of your teeth. They are typically used cosmetically or as a quicker more esthetic form of straightening teeth. Veneers are used to fix the size, shape and/or color of teeth that have undesirable defects like staining, chips, gaps or mild crowding.
How are Lumineers different from normal veneers?
Traditional veneers require the dentist to prepare and remove approximately 0.5 mm of enamel from the tooth’s surface before application using permanent adhesive. Because the procedure can be sensitive, standard veneers are typically applied under local anesthetic delivery (numbing). While the veneer is being created, the teeth that were prepared must be covered with another material (temporary veneer) to protect the sensitive tooth.
Applying Lumineers is practically painless. In most situations Lumineers is an anesthetic-free process that is done without the need for grinding down the tooth’s surface before placement. Lumineers do not typically require a temporary cover for the teeth during the fabrication of the Lumineer, as they are left intact, healthy and strong.
Lumineers are made from a specific type of porcelain called Cerinate. Because they are ultra-thin and highly translucent, they replicate the natural appearance of enamel very effectively. Lumineers are durable and resistant to wear, remaining resilient for over 20 years.
Luxury Dentistry NYC is a Certified Lumineers Practice, meaning that we have the required skills for applying the incredibly thin Lumineers, and ensuring that the patient’s original tooth color is matched to the thin porcelain.
