"My smile is very important to me. I never really had huge issues with my teeth but I did have some spacing that I was not happy with. Deciding to get invisalign was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The hard part was finding a facility that would tend to my needs and make me feel at home. I researched for quite some time before actually picking a place, but I finally ended up choosing Luxury Dentistry.”

How does Arestin work?
Due to gum disease, pockets of space between the gum and teeth may form. Dentists may not be able to physically remove all of the bacteria that flourish in these pockets during an SRP procedure. Arestin works by placing the antibiotic directly into these pockets, killing bacteria and preventing new bacteria from growing there.
What is a typical Arestin procedure like?
During your gum disease treatment, while your dentist is performing the SRP procedure, he will also place some of the Arestin treatment powder directly onto the infected site. Arestin then utilizes microsphere technology to deliver antibiotics deep in the periodontal pocket, where hard-to-reach bacteria may still linger.
Arestin will then kill these bacteria and continue to act as an antibiotic for a period of time after initial treatment, as the microspheres also allow for extended release.
What can I expect after I receive an Arestin treatment?
Because Arestin is completely painless, there is no anesthetic required or accompanying downtime. Your dentist will provide you with full instructions for post-treatment care. Arestin will naturally and safely absorb into your gums, so there is no need for a professional cleaning after treatment, though your dentist may recommend follow-up appointments to monitor your periodontal gum disease.
